While widespread vaccination has made Infectious Canine Hepatitis (ICH) uncommon, it remains a critical differential for any unvaccinated dog presenting with acute liver disease. Caused by Canine Adenovirus-1 (CAV-1), the disease can be severe and fatal. The Tashikin ICH Ag Rapid Test detects the viral antigen during the acute, viremic phase of infection. A rapid, positive result allows for immediate implementation of supportive care and strict quarantine protocols to prevent the spread of this highly contagious virus.

Your Path to Diagnosing a Preventable Disease:

1

Test Suspect Cases

The definitive rapid test for unvaccinated dogs with signs of acute hepatitis, fever, petechiae, and corneal edema (blue eye).

2

Confirm Active Infection

Detects the presence of viral antigen, confirming active shedding and viremia, which is crucial for diagnosis and infection control.

3

Initiate Quarantine

A positive result necessitates immediate quarantine and disinfection measures to protect other dogs in the environment.

1

Collect Sample

Collect canine whole blood, or prepare serum/plasma, according to standard laboratory procedures from the symptomatic dog.

2

Apply Sample

Using the provided dropper, add 1 drop (approx. 10µL) of the prepared sample into the sample well (S) of the test cassette.

3

Add Buffer

Add 2 drops of the provided assay buffer into the sample well immediately after the sample.

4

Read Results

Interpret the test results at 10 minutes. Do not read results after 15 minutes.

Highlight the Power of Preventative Care
