Giardiasis is a common cause of intestinal disease in dogs and cats worldwide. Diagnosis via traditional fecal flotation can be unreliable due to the intermittent shedding of cysts. The Tashikin Giardia Ag Rapid Test solves this problem by detecting a specific Giardia antigen released during infection. This provides a more sensitive diagnostic method, ensuring you can confidently identify or rule out giardiasis and provide prompt, targeted therapy.
Your Path to a Reliable GI Workup:
Test for Diarrhea
The ideal frontline test for any dog or cat presenting with acute or chronic diarrhea, especially young animals from high-density environments.
Increase Detection Rates
Use in place of or as a complement to fecal flotation to increase the sensitivity of your GI diagnostic panel and avoid false negatives.
Confirm Eradication
Test post-treatment to confirm that the infection has been successfully cleared and the animal is no longer shedding antigen.

Collect Fecal Sample
Collect a fresh fecal sample from the animal using the provided swab.
Prepare Sample
Insert the swab into the assay buffer tube. Mix the swab vigorously in the buffer to ensure the sample is fully extracted.
Apply Sample
Using the provided dropper, add 3-4 drops of the extracted fluid from the buffer tube into the sample well (S) of the test cassette.
Read Results
Interpret the test results at 10 minutes. Do not read results after 15 minutes.
Manage Public Health and Prevent Reinfection
