When you suspect cardiac damage, get a definitive answer. This quantitative test measures cardiac Troponin I (cTnI), the gold-standard biomarker for heart muscle injury in dogs and cats.

The Tashikin cTnI Test provides a rapid and quantitative measurement of cardiac troponin I, a protein released exclusively from damaged heart muscle cells (myocytes). Unlike ECG or imaging, which assess function and structure, cTnI provides a direct biochemical marker of active injury. This makes it an invaluable tool for diagnosing conditions like myocarditis, assessing cardiac damage from trauma or GDV, and monitoring patients with chronic heart disease.
Your Path to a Clear Cardiac Assessment:
Investigate Acute Events
Use for emergency cases like blunt-force trauma, heatstroke, or GDV to assess the extent of secondary cardiac injury.
Diagnose Myocarditis
A significantly elevated cTnI in a patient with compatible clinical signs is a strong indicator of active myocardial inflammation.
Monitor Chronic Disease
Serial measurement of cTnI can help stage diseases like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in cats and monitor for ongoing myocardial damage.

Performance validated against established chemiluminescent immunoassays, ensuring high correlation for clinical decision-making.
Prepare Sample
Collect whole blood, or prepare serum/plasma, from the patient according to standard laboratory procedures.
Add Sample
Using a micropipette, add exactly 100µL of the prepared sample into the sample well of the test cassette.
Add Buffer
Add 2 drops of the provided assay buffer into the same well and start the timer immediately.
Read Result
At 10 minutes, insert the cassette into the Tashikin FIA Analyzer to obtain the quantitative cTnI concentration.
Trend Cardiac Biomarkers for Proactive Management
In chronic heart disease, the trajectory of cTnI can be more important than a single value. Logging serial results in VetEx.ai allows you to visualize the progression of myocardial injury over time, enabling more proactive management and clearer communication with clients about their pet's condition.
