Canine pancreatitis is a common and serious condition with often non-specific clinical signs. The Tashikin cPL Test provides a specific and quantitative solution. Unlike traditional lipase assays, canine pancreatic lipase (cPL) is secreted only by the pancreas, making it the most reliable biomarker for pancreatitis. This test provides rapid, in-clinic results, allowing you to make a confident diagnosis and initiate appropriate supportive care without delay.
Your Path to a Confident Diagnosis:
Test Symptomatic Dogs
The essential diagnostic for any dog presenting with vomiting, anorexia, dehydration, or abdominal pain.
Get a Quantitative Baseline
Establish a baseline cPL value to assess the severity of the pancreatitis and guide the initial treatment plan.
Monitor Treatment Response
Perform serial testing to objectively monitor the patient's response to therapy, tracking the decline in cPL levels as the pancreas recovers.

Performance validated against reference laboratory cPL immunoassays, ensuring results you can trust for critical case management.
Prepare Sample
Prepare canine serum or plasma from a whole blood sample according to standard laboratory procedures.
Add Sample
Using a micropipette, add exactly 100µL of the serum or plasma into the sample well of the test cassette.
Add Buffer
Add 2 drops of the provided assay buffer into the same well and start the timer immediately.
Read Result
At 10 minutes, insert the cassette into the Tashikin FIA Analyzer to obtain the quantitative cPL result.
Visualize the Path to Pancreatic Recovery
Managing pancreatitis involves tracking the patient's progress closely. By plotting serial cPL results in VetEx.ai, you create a clear, visual trend line of the patient’s recovery. This is invaluable for adjusting fluid therapy and nutritional plans, and for effectively communicating the patient's progress to a concerned owner.
