C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is a major acute-phase protein in dogs that increases rapidly in response to systemic inflammation from infection, trauma, or surgery. The Tashikin CRP Test provides a specific and quantitative measurement of this key biomarker. Unlike a WBC count, which can be influenced by stress, CRP offers a more reliable and dynamic indicator of the inflammatory state, allowing for confident clinical decision-making.

Your Path to Managing Inflammation:

1

Detect Hidden Inflammation

An essential tool for any dog presenting with fever of unknown origin, lethargy, or non-specific signs of illness.

2

Monitor Post-Surgical Recovery

Establish a post-op baseline and track the decline in CRP levels to confirm an uncomplicated recovery and detect early complications.

3

Assess Treatment Efficacy

Objectively measure the response to anti-inflammatory or antimicrobial therapy by tracking the normalization of CRP levels.

1

Prepare Sample

Prepare canine serum or plasma from a whole blood sample according to standard laboratory procedures.

2

Add Sample

Using a micropipette, add exactly 75µL of the serum or plasma into the sample well of the test cassette.

3

Add Buffer

Add 2 drops of the provided assay buffer into the same well and start the timer immediately.

4

Read Result

At 10 minutes, insert the cassette into the Tashikin FIA Analyzer to obtain the quantitative CRP result.

Visualize the Inflammatory Response Curve

Tracking a patient's recovery is clearer with objective data. By plotting serial CRP results in VetEx.ai, you can visualize the patient’s inflammatory response to treatment. This is invaluable for adjusting medication, reassuring owners, and deciding when to safely discontinue therapy.
