The Tashikin Feline SAA Test empowers veterinarians with a real-time, quantitative measure of inflammation. Unlike a WBC count, which can be slow to react and influenced by stress, SAA is a major acute-phase protein that rises and falls rapidly in direct response to systemic inflammation. This makes it an invaluable tool for detecting subclinical disease, assessing the severity of a condition, monitoring response to treatment, and making confident clinical decisions.
Your Path to Confident Case Management:
Detect Hidden Inflammation
Use as a sensitive screening tool to detect systemic inflammation in cats with non-specific signs of illness (e.g., FUO, inappetence).
Monitor Treatment Efficacy
Objectively track a patient's response to anti-inflammatory or antibiotic therapy by monitoring the decline in SAA levels over time.
Assess Post-Op Recovery
Monitor post-surgical patients for early signs of complications like infection, ensuring a smoother, more predictable recovery.

Performance validated against established ELISA reference methods, ensuring reliable and accurate quantification of feline SAA.
Prepare Sample
Prepare feline serum or plasma from a whole blood sample according to standard laboratory procedures.
Add Sample
Using a micropipette, add exactly 10µL of the serum or plasma into the sample well of the test cassette.
Add Buffer
Add 2 drops of the provided assay buffer into the same well and start the timer immediately.
Read Result
At 5 minutes, insert the cassette into the Tashikin FIA Analyzer to obtain the quantitative SAA result.
Visualize the Inflammatory Trend, Not Just a Snapshot
The true power of SAA lies in trending. By plotting serial SAA results in VetEx.ai, you can transform individual data points into a clear visual narrative of the patient’s inflammatory response. This visualization simplifies case management and provides a powerful tool for communicating the patient's progress to pet owners.
