The Tashikin FeLV-FIV-Giardia Combo Test is a cornerstone diagnostic for feline practice, combining the essential retrovirus screening recommended by the AAFP with a leading cause of infectious diarrhea. This test provides veterinarians with a powerful, efficient tool to assess a cat's health status, whether for annual wellness checks, new patient intake, or as part of a workup for a sick animal.
Your Path to a Comprehensive Diagnosis:
Screen Every New Cat
Follow AAFP guidelines by testing all new cats and kittens for FeLV and FIV to establish their retrovirus status.
Investigate GI Signs
Simultaneously test for Giardia in any cat presenting with diarrhea, weight loss, or other gastrointestinal issues.
Assess Lifestyle Risks
Use for routine screening of at-risk cats, such as those with outdoor access or those from multi-cat environments.

Collect Samples
Collect both a fecal sample and a whole blood sample (for serum/plasma) from the cat.
Prepare Fecal Sample
Insert the fecal swab into the assay buffer tube for Giardia and mix vigorously to dissolve the sample.
Apply Samples
Add 1 drop of serum/plasma to the FeLV/FIV sample well. Add 3-4 drops of the fecal extract to the Giardia sample well.
Add Buffer & Read
Add 2 drops of buffer to the FeLV/FIV well. Start the timer. Interpret all test results at 10 minutes.
Build a Complete, Lifelong Health Record
A cat's FeLV/FIV status is a critical piece of its permanent medical record. Logging these results, along with Giardia findings, in VetEx.ai ensures this vital information is always accessible, informing future anesthetic protocols, vaccination strategies, and clinical decisions for the lifetime of the patient.
